Just gets by doing the job - user unfriendly

Once you get this counter-intuitive software to work, which could take some time, it does the job reasonably well, acquiring and displaying data. Unfortunately, a number of obvious features have been overlooked. For example, clearing the screen of a previous scan, or being able to easily migrate a configuration file from use with one hardware module to a different one of the same type. The configuration files are permanently 'burned-in" with the module's serial number, which cannot be updated. Customizing channels is not an intuitive process. You have to have been born with that information. I also suspect that installing DAQami has in some way corrupted my Windows 7 boot files. Directly after the installation, when a restart was required, Windows now hangs when "Starting Windows" and when shutting down, for about 2 minute, before booting resumes.

Migration between two S/Ns of the exact same hardware model is relatively straightforward. When attempting to run the original DAQami configuration on a different S/N, the user will see a message that model ABC, S/N XYZ, could not be found, and will be presented with a list of other S/Ns (of the same model) that are connected to the same PC, to choose from. To use that new S/N going forward, re-save the configuration. However, migration between 2 different hardware models is not supported. The user will instead see a message “The device is not responding, make sure that the device is still connected”, as it can not find another unit of the same exact model.

Amazing bang for the buck

For the price, it can't be beat. Very easy to get up and running. Even non-tech colleagues can alter parameters and use it effectively. Highly recommended.

Simple and Easy

I got this software to track temp and pressure changes in our system. It works well and allows for the export of data to Excel for further analysis. Works great with our USB-2408.

Quick and Easy to use.

This is a quick and easy way to get data from the USB-201. It has a nice graphical interface that is simple to use and does an good job of displaying and saving data.

Easy to get started collecting samples to PC

I used this with one of the MC DAQs and it was very easy to get everything installed and communicating. In about 30 minutes I would say I was familiar with all the features of the software. Data collection is as advertised though noteworthy is that exporting to .CSV is limited to 1 M data points (for most people it won't matter but we were trying to have long collection time at high sampling rate). Free trial and only $50 for the full license makes it a no brainer purchase to accompany their DAQs. It will be very useful in troubleshoot at the least and be a full solution to your application at best.

Does exactly what we were looking for, and easy to set up and use

We were looking for a reliable, easy to use, and versatile unit to perform testing and calibration. This product was simple to set-up and use. It also gave us the ability to use multiple different temperature sensors, record, and log our data as well for further computation. The program interface is very intuitive as well.

I am looking to graph 82 channels using multiple daq boards using DAQami v4.2.1. How many channels can I plot using the strip chart display?

Answers

DAQami can handle plotting such high quantities of channels across one or more strip charts, as long as sample rates are low (such as 1 Hz). Signals from different DAQ devices can be plotted on the same strip chart, though note that when .CSV log files are created, there will be one per DAQ device.

We recently purchased TC-32 DAQAmi and I'm wondering what the conditions of the software license are. I'm not sure if it's a computer or a user license and I'm not sure if it's limited to 1 computer or 1 user or neither.

Answers

Each purchased DAQami license is good for installation on only 1 PC at a time. You can uninstall it and then re-install it on a different PC, if you wish. DAQami can be installed and used fully on any PC for 30 days (until its evaluation period expires).

Answers

DAQami does not support a time interval trigger. DAQami only has support for a manual or an ext digital start trigger. If you require a time interval trigger then you can use our TracerDAQ PRO application. TracerDAQ PRO has support for time interval triggers as well as an internal trigger and external trigger as well.
